Remembering Philip Guston

Back in the 70's I went to the New York Studio School on W.8th ST. in NYC and I studied with Philip Guston. He once said," When you're in the studio painting, there are a lot of people in there with you... your teachers, friends, painters from history, critics...and one by one if you're really painting, they walk out. And if you're really painting YOU walk out."

Off to hang new paintings at G's Restaurant

I painted on Wisner Road for over 20years. I fell in love with the flat landscape. It reminded me of California where I lived for the time I was 7-22yrs. Before coming out to NY to study art at the New York Studio School.

This a pastel at Goose Pond Park just off of 17M heading into Monroe, NY. A breath of fresh air after the long, hard winter we experienced.
